final project idea

Today in class, I came up with this idea after we decided on a rom-com. I thought of this after watching Up and Cinderella recently.
The sequence of events will be:
1- The main character and her friend are watching a movie
2- The main character and her friend start talking
3- The main character starts to daydream and does not pay attention to her friend
4- The daydream shows her fantasizing about being with a guy she likes. They are in a grassy field and are doing a couple of things. Ex. dancing, going on a picnic, etc (a montage)
5- As they lean in for a kiss, you hear the friend faintly in the background calling her name, which brings the main character back into reality
6- the name of the movie pops up scene over

There are some things we have not decided on, such as the name of the film and the characters' names, but these are things that will be figured out soon.

Some things that have been figured out are our roles. I will be the main character, Ashley will be my best friend, Vivien will film and edit, and my friend Dylan will be the love interest.

The location will be at a field in Davie where there is a lot of space to film without any interruptions.

Our goal and theme will be to break stereotypes and to be yourself.

movie opener brainstorming and research

 1. Rise: This film opening for this in particular is interesting as it starts off with an individual walking out of a car. The credits are shown on the objects such as the car and the football. However, the scene focuses on the car's wing mirror. The camera then transitions to the trunk of the car showing the objects inside. It is clear to the audience the outfit and things that the individual is going to play a sport. The music also does not start until the scene in the back of the car where he gets his stuff.

2. Dear Lover: The calming music immediately began at the beginning of the video showcasing a small lake in the woods. Fade transitions are seen throughout the video as the videos are transitioned from one to another. The credits are also on the bottom left of the screen. The main character comes into the scene a little after the opening credits showing the setting. It illustrates the frustration she has with her parents. The video also has a voiceover to further emphasize her emotions

3. Dare to thrill: The fonts of the video opener shows a gaming font with pixelated letters. The music of the video opener immediately captivates the audience's attention as it is catchy and interesting are smooth and collected, moving from one scene to another without many difficulties.

4. Always watching: The video opening starts off immediately with the audio of a young woman and man, it seems as though the setting is in a therapist session. The music comes a little later giving a piece of soy and eerie music. The fonts shown throughout the video are red and bold, illustrating an evil feeling/ The transitions are either faded or cut. The lighting throughout the video is also low-key and sometimes very dark. This provides the audience with a mysterious atmosphere.

5. The Blue Boar: The music and audio begin in a garden with a variety of plants. The costumes of the main character seems to be from an older era. The speech throughout the video opener is also old Brish English. The lighting is high key displaying the setting and characters clearly.

brainstorming

Today in class we brainstormed different ideas for our movie opening. We each have our own ideas, however we can easily blend them together. I would want a comedic, lighthearted film, Vivien would want an action filled and dramatic film, and Ashley wants a mix of this. Below are some pictures of our ideas.

Vivien:

Mine:

Ashley:

In order to get a little bit of what we all want, we have decided on a romantic comedy where many things happen at once. However, it will not be very action-filled.

introduction to the final project

Today we have picked groups for our final project. For my project, I chose to work with Ashley Marshall and Vivien Tang. I chose to work with them because Ashley is very creative and Vivien is good with editing. Below are pictures of my members.

Ashley:

Vivien:

We have all worked together before, so this project will be very smooth and easy. So far, we have come up with many ideas that are very creative and seem fun to film. I am very excited to start and see where this project goes.
