who am I and why am I taking this class?

I am Nicole Gonzalez, born in Hialeah, raised in Miramar. My grandparents moved here from Cuba back in the 70's. When they arrived, they had no money, so they had to work hard. They worked as housekeepers, garbage men, fisherman, and so many other jobs, sometimes having up to 3 jobs at once. They did all of this for their children. Their children being on my mom's side, my mom and uncle and on my dad's side, my dad and aunt. All being raised in Hialeah.

Fast forward a couple years, my parents graduated high school. My mom continued her education and became a software teacher, while my dad went right to working and works at a airplane part seller. Thanks to my grandparents, they were able to have their own successful careers and life. A few years later, my parents met on a group chat on AOL messenger in 2000. They dated and got married in 2004. Two years later, I was born on March 29th.

It was difficult for my parents at first to adjust to being parents. They were not used to having another mouth to feed or another person to take care of. After a couple months, they got used to living with me and we were very happy. Two years later, my brother, Alex, was born on January 25th. We now all live in a house in Miramar with my bird.

I've grown up to love traveling and we go on vacation very often. I've been everywhere in the Caribbean, including Jamaica, Grand Caymen, Nassau, Cozumel, and so many other places. I am very grateful for my grandparents and the sacrifices they had to make, because without them, none of this would be possible.

I have picked this class because I like watching TV and would love to see it in a different point of view. I feel like this class will allow me to appreciate cinematography more and truly see the time and effort people taking into making these films.
